My grandfather's sister Jeannie Bell lived in Inverell and then Tamworth having left Ireland abou a hundred years ago. She married and became Mrs Ernie Reid and her husband was disabled fighting in WW1. Her son, also Ernie, was a Japanese POW in WW2 and her grandson Bobbie Reid or his family is possibly still living in Tamworth. If anyone has any information, please email me.

I am looking for John William Taylor...my grandfather. He would be aged between 70 - 80 years
I know....
He was living in Tamworth in the early 1950's and worked at the Commercial Banking Company.
Was friends with Barry Alldis from 2TM radio.
Was later to become a pilot.
Married a Shirley Vercoe who I am lead to believe was a model.
His father was a policeman in Katoomba at some stage.
He may have lived in Sydney and somewhere in Queensland.
My mother was born in 1954 in Sydney.
I am lead to believe that he knew about the pregnacy but was warned off by a relative?
If anyone could help with any information it would be greatly appreciated.
He may wish to leave these things in the past, if that is the case I will respect his wishes; I am just trying to find my mother some answers that I feel could bring some form of comfort.

I am a direct descendant of the Loch and Reardon/Riordan familes who were Bounty immigrants. The Loch dynasty in Australia was started by Thomas Loch and Christina Duncan. Thomas was the overseer at Goonoo Goonoo. Denis Riordan and Honorah ( Morry ) Flynn settled in Sydney originally but then moved to the region to The Rockgidgele Station just outside Quirindi. Their daughter Honorah Riordan married James Loch at Burburgate, Carroll.

I am trying to find information on the Knee family who were part of the 1912 Warrah Creek subdivision. My father Eldred Neville Knee went to school in Tamworth.

Other names I am researching are Knee/Nee, Wild, Benson, Vine, Clifford, Saunders, Roser, King, Hooker, Baker, Phillips, Hooker.

If anyone else is also interested in these names, please don't hesitate to contact me

I have a lot of relatives that came from around the Tamworth area. My Great Great Grandfather, Richard Brown married Mary Muggleton in Tamworth in 1865. My Great Great Grandfather, William (Hans Christian) Albertson from Denmark and his wife Maria Sophia Thomson (along with another borther and sister) settled in Tamworth in the 1860s. His and his brother's families represent almost all the Albertson in New South Wales. I am happy to supply or recieve any information. Regards Brad

Just doing some enquiries into the Coutman, Cartan, Northern, Brines and Sparrow families all being my grand parents. The Coutman family had the brickyards on the corner of Margaret and Goonoo Goonoo Roads Tamworth and owned much of that surrounding land.( my materanl grand father)The Cartan family lived in Tamworth but were mainly from Woolbrook and walcha.( my paternal grand father)The Brines family immigrated from Ireland in the late 1800 moving to a property at GravesEnd( I think) and thus moving - then moving to the Tamworth area.(this was my paternal grandmother who married a cartan) The Northern family were from SA moving to Taree then to Tamworth, (this was my maternal grand mother who married a coutman.)The sparrow family came form Millicent SA and they were my mothers mothers family.I know quite a bit regarding the Coutman side but would greatly appreiciate any information on any of the above mentioned family names.
